Pahlavāni Variations – Online Self-Study Course
Advance Your Skills. Amplify Your Power. Evolve Your Practice.
The Pahlavāni Variations Online Self-Study Course is designed for students who have completed the Pahlavāni Fundamentals and are ready to deepen their training. While the Fundamentals course lays the groundwork in technique, alignment, and essential tools, Variations introduces greater complexity, intensity, and coordination challenges, pushing you further in your physical and mental development.
This course builds on the ancient warrior traditions of Persian Yoga (Pahlavāni), integrating advanced strength-building techniques, rhythmic movement, and flow-based transitions. It enhances your ability to move with purpose, precision, and power.
What You Will Learn
Advanced Meel Techniques
Refine your practice with two-count swings (shallaghi), reverse transitions, decussated swings, and rhythmic combinations. These movements develop rotational strength, shoulder resilience, timing, and hand-eye coordination.
Introduction to Sang Shield Training
Learn the fundamentals of Sang (wooden shields) and how to handle them with correct posture and form. Sang training dramatically increases core stability and grip strength while reinforcing control and symmetry across the upper body.
Shena Push-Up Variations and Flows
Progress beyond static push-ups with flowing Shena sequences, complex hand placements, and integrated dynamic transitions. These enhance total-body strength, shoulder mobility, core stability, and hip flexibility.
Dynamic Sit-to-Stands and Meel Stretching Drills
Master controlled, functional movement patterns that improve your posterior chain, balance, and mobility. These sequences stretch the rotator cuff, spine, and hips under load, building strength and range simultaneously.
Spins and Pa Zadan (Kicking Drills)
Incorporate single, double, and triple spins, along with traditional Pa Zadan kicking patterns. These dynamic movements sharpen coordination, rhythm, spatial awareness, and reactive control under rotational stress.
Rhythm, Flow, and Timing
Train rhythm as a skill. Through interaction drills, spins, and movement sequencing, you’ll develop the inner timing, proprioception, and flow that separates functional movement from mere exercise.
Why This Course Matters
While Fundamentals teaches you how to move correctly, Variations teaches you how to move dynamically, with strength, flow, and purpose. The movements are faster, the transitions more demanding, and the control required more refined. This course will develop your body into a highly functional, agile, and powerful instrument, capable of integrated movement across multiple planes.
By the end of this program, you will have a greater command of traditional tools, deeper body awareness, and an elevated understanding of Pahlavāni as both a strength system and a martial discipline.
Prerequisite: Completion of the Pahlavāni Fundamentals Online Self-Study Course is recommended.
