ABOUT PAHLAVANI

How is Pahlavani related to (Indian) Yoga?
It’s not, Pahlavani has developed separately based on different cultural and ethical values.Although both systems develop various physical, mental and spiritual skills, their core purpose are different, one (Indian Yoga) can be described as Meditation in Motion to “unite ourselves with our highest nature” and the other as Dynamic Meditation, that through physical activities emphasizes a means of promoting inner strength through outer strength in a process meant to cultivate what can be best described as a chivalrous and a heroic (Pahlavani) state of being.

What are the similarities between Pahlavani and Indian Yoga?

– Both move energy throughout the body through manipulating the body physically
– They develop and increase flow, fluidity and grace

What are the differences between Pahlavani and Indian Yoga?
Pahlavani is much more dynamic in nature, e.g. you rarely hold a pose for a long period of time and there’s constant movement.

– The emphasis is on developing power and functional strength through dynamic strength training, movement and poses
– Pahlavani incorporates more agility exercises
– It greatly enhances reflexes and hand to eye coordination
– Cardiovascular endurance training is integrated within the system
– Includes dynamic resistance strength training through the use of external weights
– Includes calisthenics exercises
– Is physically challenging
– Pahlavani bridges the gap between functional strength training and Yoga

What is the difference between Meel and Indian Club?
The main difference between the Meel and the Indian Club would be their shape and consequently their weight distribution. Traditional Persian Meels are more bottom heavy and are tear shaped. This [shape] creates more torque during the swing and so generates more forces on the muscles, i.e. more resistance since the bulk of the weight is further away from your body.

What is the difference between Meel and Clubbell?
They are very different. Clubbells are made from metal, which is denser and heavier than wood, therefore on the most part they are heavier than Meels and a lot shorter as a result, this means the weight is held closer to the body; hence there are less forces generated during the swing. The difference in shape and weight distribution, as well as the weight of the material, impacts your body differently.

ORDERING AND PAYMENT

Can I change or cancel my order?
If you have changed your mind regarding your online order and wish to cancel it, please e-mail Customer Service info@pahlavani.org and we will be able to help you with the cancellation process.

We cannot make changes to an order once it has been shipped.

What are my payment options?
We currently accept Visa, MasterCard or Electronic Bank Transfer.

To pay using electronic bank transfer, please email us your order and we will send you further instructions. Please keep in mind that we do not take responsibility for any bank charges and they may be charged back to you.

Why we don’t offer PayPal as payment options?
PayPal threatened to close our account if we do not remove all goods or services originating from Iran from our website. Obviously that’s a non-starter to any negotiations as our Meel program is for peaceful purposes 😉 

When will my credit card be charged?
Once you submit your order, we will contact your bank to get approval for payment.  A pre-authorization hold may appear on your credit card.  However your card will not be charged until your order has shipped.  We will send an email to you when your order has shipped and your card has been charged.

What currency is the site in?
All prices and dollar amounts on the Pahlavani website are presented in AED Currency. Your bank may charge you an additional international transaction fee when buying or shipping internationally. For more information, please check with the bank that issued your credit card.

SHIPPING

How are shipping fees determined?
Shipping fees are based on the weight, shipping method, and destination of your order.

What are my shipping options?
Pahlavani LLC ships from our distribution facility in Dubai, UAE. At Checkout you will be prompted to select shipping. Shipping is done with DHL and takes approximately 3-5 days to most destinations. AWB and tracking number will be emailed to you.

Can I ship to P. O. boxes or to APO/FPO addresses?
No.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship internationally. Shipping options based on the destination country will be visible once you place your order. See Ordering and Payment for more information on accepted methods of payment.

What about international taxes and duties?
Duties and taxes vary by country and the items ordered so we are unable to provide an estimated cost. Please contact the customs office in the destination country of your order for information regarding applicable duties, taxes, and other fees. We are required by law to disclose the full value of the package contents and cannot alter this value. If an international order is placed on our  shop and then refused, you will be responsible for the original shipping costs, as well as any duties, taxes and/or customs charges that are incurred in the shipping process. TRACKING ORDERS
You will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail following the processing of your order. You will also receive a tracking number that will allow you to follow the shipment of your order or you can check the status of your order by logging into your account.

RETURNS

What is your return policy?
Items may be returned within 30 days of the delivery date. All returnable items must be in their original condition, and original packaging. All items are subject inspection. If your item is defective, please contact us at info@pahlavani.org and we will work with you on an exchange or refund.

Can I get a gift receipt online?
We do not offer gift receipts online at this time.

How do I ship my online return?
All purchase returns should be shipped to the address that is listed on the packaged invoice that arrives with your order.

When will my purchase be refunded?
Once your return has been received and inspected, your refund will be issued in the original form of payment within 30 days. You will be notified via e-mail when this transaction has taken place. Please note that banking institutions may require additional days to process and post this transaction to your account once they have received the information from us. The credit may not show up until your credit card’s next monthly billing cycle.

Are there any items that can’t be returned?
Any washed or worn items cannot be returned. If returned, your purchase will not be refunded.

What is your privacy policy?
We value your privacy and do not share or sell any of your personal or contact information to any third party users or groups. WORKSHOPS AND TEACHER TRAINING 

What are the prerequisites for the teacher training?

• Applicants must be minimum 21 years of age to attend the teacher training.
• Completed Level 1, 2 and 3 workshops
• You must be physically fit and able to complete our Level 3 program.
• Teaching experience in a similar discipline is preferred but not required

How can I secure my enrollment in the training?  
By sending in your complete application ,and payment for mandatory housing.

How many students are in a teacher training session?
Our Teacher Training sessions are limited to 12 students, so that we can give a personal tuition and appropriate attention to individual needs.

Does everyone who completes the program receive the Pahlavani Teacher Certification?
Certification is not guaranteed simply by attending the Teacher Training program. You must pass the tests, attend and participate in all workshops, lectures, and demonstrate proficiency in the Pahlavani postures with the Shena and techniques with the Meel and other tools. A midterm exam will identify those students not meeting certifying standards and additional help will be available to them. At graduation, those students not meeting certifying standards may be afforded additional opportunities for practice and certification.

Should I bring a Yoga Mat?
No this is not required.

What kind of clothes should I bring?
Comfortable training attire.
