MEEL

The father of all clubs

Authentic Persian Meel
Meel are Functional Art Pieces

Fibrous, warm and organic like muscles, Meel are handcrafted by traditional artisans from one solid piece of walnut timber and are used in pair.

Each piece is a unique, functional work of art.

Swinging Meels is a profound form of circular strength training, providing uniform resistance across the entire range of shoulder movement.

With fluid, circular motions spanning all three planes, it demands skill and cultivates 3D strength.

The harmonization of breath and movement deepens focus and rhythm, creating a meditative journey.

The distinctive handmade shape of authentic Meels, honed through ages, offers a truly unparalleled and transformative swinging experience.

I have swung poly-carbonate clubs, metal clubs, other wooden clubs but none compare to these authentic handmade Meel. The balance, feel and design are superb. These tools are well worth the investment.

Cataphract knight

The Oldest Strength Tool

For a heavily armed knight, a Pahlavan, a mace was as effective as a sword or battle axe.

Historically Meel was used for practising and developing the strength and skill required for handling various handheld weapons like maces, axes, hammers and lances.

The Meel serves as a weapon replacement tool used for martial arts strength conditioning.

The Meel is the father of all clubs. Most modern clubs are inspired by the Meel and fashioned after it.

The club, which the Meel is derived from, is humankind’s oldest tool and Meel are arguably the oldest strength training tool in the world.

FAQ

Traditionally, in the Zurkhaneh (house of strength), a healthy adult male begins their training with a 6 kg (13.3 lb) pair of Meel. However, if you are new to this type of training or are restarting your strength journey and prefer a smoother and safer progression, I would recommend starting with a 4 kg (8.8 lb) pair of Meel.

For strength athletes with previous experience in circular strength training but no familiarity with Persian Meel, I would suggest using an 8 kg (17 lb) pair of Meel. Anything heavier will be too challenging to learn with.

Based on my experience, most beginner females typically start with a 2 kg (4.4 lb) pair of Meel, while strong and experienced females often begin with a 4 kg (8.8 lb) pair.
